LBS - Our Purpose

Layperson’s I & II

Layperson’s Bible School began in the fall of 1981.  Rev. Keith A. Butler Sr., Bishop and Founder of Word of Faith International Christian Center in Southfield, Michigan is also the founder of Layperson’s Bible School located in churches throughout the United States and several other countries of the world.  Its purpose is to give laypersons and lay-ministers a basic working knowledge of the truths of the Bible.

This two-year school (September-June) is a systematic Bible study course.  It will give you a detailed study of your authority as a believer in Jesus Christ.

Layperson’s III

In the fall of 2005, Rev. Keith A. Butler, Sr. expanded the Layperson’s program to include a third year. With the intention to prepare and send out fully equipped ministers who will go forth and preach everywhere, “the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following, Amen.” (Mark 16:20)

This one-year school (September – June) is a fast paced systematic ministry training school, designed for the self-motivated individual, who has an evident call of God into the full time ministry.  Individuals who desire to enter Layperson’s III Bible School must have graduated from Layperson’s II.
