Depart the United States flying overnight to Israel.

Tuesday, October 12, 2010
TEL AVIV / TIBERIAS
Arrive at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, directly on the Mediterranean Sea and Israel’s largest city. Meet, assist and begin the journey traveling up the Israeli coastline to Caesarea, the Roman capital of Israel. View the beautiful restored Roman Theater, the ruins of the ancient town, harbor and aqueduct before continuing to Tiberias for overnight. (D)

TIBERIAS
Begin the day at the Mount of Beatitudes, the site of the sermon on the mount. Tour the Golan Heights, where we will see the former Syrian fortifications. View the road to Damascus, driving past Mount Hermon. Continue to Caesarea Philippi where Peter first confessed Jesus as Christ. Returning through the Hula Valley to Tabgha, the traditional site of the miracle of loaves and fishes. Stop for a visit to the ancient boat at Nof Ginnosar, before returning to Tiberias. (B,D)

TIBERIAS
Join together, this morning, for a special service on the waters of the Sea of Galilee. Next, drive and view Nazareth, the boyhood home of Jesus. Continuing across the Jezreel Valley to Megiddo, one of Solomon’s chariot cities and the site of the coming battle of Armageddon. Conclude the day being Baptized in the Jordan River, at the beautiful site of Yardenit. (B,D)

TIBERIAS / JERUSALEM
The morning begins with a tour of the recent excavations at Beit Shean, dating back to Roman-Byzantine times. Next, drive around the ancient city of Jericho, enroute up to Jerusalem, enjoying a special welcome service atop Mount Scopus, upon arrival. View of the beautiful panorama from atop the Mount of Olives. Continue with a visit to the Garden of Gethsemane and then to the Western Wall (Kotel) for the traditional bringing in of the Sabbath. Proceed to the hotel in Jerusalem. Special Sabbath dinner at the hotel. (B,D)

JERUSALEM
Today’s full day begins with a drive into the Judean wilderness for a visit to Massada, the mountain top ruin of Herod’s Palace and the last fortress of the Jewish revolt against Rome. Continue on to Qumran,
overlooking the caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered, followed by a swim in the Dead Sea at the Ein Gedi Oasis. Return to Jerusalem. (B,D)

JERUSALEM
Begin the day with a visit to the Pool of Bethesda and St. Anne’s Church for a special service. Follow the Stations of the Cross (Via Dolorosa), through narrow alleys and souks to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. This morning experience Ir David, the City of David with an exciting journey both above and below ground through excavations, fortresses and passageways through to the Gihon Spring. With recommended flashlights, wade through the spring in King Hezekiah’s 2,700 year old water tunnel. (B, D)

Monday, October 18, 2010
JERUSALEM
The morning begins in the Old City of Jerusalem visiting the restored Jewish Quarter Cardo. Continue to the Herodian Quarter and the Burnt House, before continuing to the
Western Wall Tunnels. Next, visit the Davidson’s Visitor Center in the Southern Wall Archaeological Garden and enjoy a modern interactive virtual presentation. Proceed to Mount Zion visiting the Upper Room of the Last Supper and King David’s Tomb, overlooking the Kidron Valley. (B,D)

Tuesday, October 19, 2010
JERUSALEM
Today will be spent in the New City of Jerusalem. First, visit the Memorial to the Holocaust at Yad Vashem. Next, view Israel’s Parliament Knesset grounds, followed by a visit to the Shrine of the Book at the Israel Museum, where the Dead Sea Scrolls are housed. Included is the Model of Ancient Jerusalem, a miniature of the city during the building of the Second Temple. Drive through the village of Ein Kerem, birthplace of John the Baptist before returning to the hotel. (B,D)

JERUSALEM / ENROUTE
The last day in Jerusalem begins with each tour member, planting a tree in the Jewish National Forest. Next, visit the site of Emmaus, followed by a visit to the Garden Tomb. Some free time this afternoon for shopping before a special farewell dinner. Evening transfer to the airport with assistance in departure for flight to the United States. (B, D)
