GROWTH: A Plan for Personal Growth

“You have to give up, to grow up.”

Our plan for personal growth is based upon Ephesians 4:7-16. Notice in these scriptures that the word measure is used three times.

Everyone starts out with the measure of faith. God determines how much more to give you based on what you do with the measure you already have.

If you are faithful over little, God will make you ruler over much.

Why People Don’t Grow

1. Too Busy. Too much activity. Don’t mistake activity for accomplishment. Priorities are important here. Working to be working is not sufficient. Working to accomplish a goal is pertinent.

2. Laziness. You must study the Word of God and pray for yourself. Laziness is the same as stealing.

3. Certificate of Education. People get hung up on the credentials. Growth is the process of learning. The opposite of growth is having the attitude of having arrived.

4. Lack of Desire. The starting point of achievement is desire. Big desire brings great results.

5. There is no plan for growth. You have to plan something in order for it to come about. If you are going to grow, you must have a plan. You should be growing spirit, soul, and body and financially as well.

A Schedule for Personal Growth

  2. What areas are you working in? How many books, tapes, and magazine are you reading and studying about your area?
  3. Make time to study and prepare in your area. Start growing!
  4. Read 1Samuel 2:26 and 1Timothy 4:13-16. There can be no profiting without investment. Buying books and tapes to invest in your ministry or area is essential.
  5. No person can lead the people where he/she has not been.
  6. Read Acts 3:6. A basic principle of life and ministry: You
