LEADERSHIP: Seven Steps to Making a Quality Decision
"Making decisions is a process, not a change of mind."
Scripture Reference: Hebrews 11:24-29
Step 1 – Esteeming. The Greek word for esteem means to judge, balance, weigh, measure, and account (add or subtract). What you value will determine how you do things. There are two rewards we have to balance – a spiritual measure and a natural measure (Vs. 26)
Step 2 – Refused. You have to choose. You have to refuse before you choose. Otherwise, it is not a choice. (Vs. 24,25)
Step 3 – Choose. Natural decisions are made in the head, intellectually stimulating. Spiritual decisions are made in the heart, from the spirit. ((Vs. 25)
The first 3 steps will help you to know the difference between head knowledge and spiritual knowledge. The next four steps deal with required action.
Step 4 – Forsook. This is the corresponding action to the refusing part (in your mind and heart). To be able to forsake something, you must eliminate fear.
Step 5 – Endured. When you start walking on the water keep walking. (Vs. 27)
Step 6 – Kept. Keep on doing what you know to do. You’re already enduring, so maintain your position. (Vs. 28)
Step 7 – Passed through. This is the final step. You are finally settled in. (Vs. 29)
